FSC: Forest Stewardship Council

FSC is an international organisation that looks for solutions which promote responsible stewardship of the worlds forests. This means that we can use FSC certified stock safe in the knowledge that the paper has come from a forest which operates a sustainability programme, replacing those trees that are cut down.

PEFC: Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes

PEFC is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification. The goals of PEFC are in essence the same as those of FSC, however there are a lot more FSC certified papers available than PEFC ones.
